Each tablet has a unique composition based on a broad spectrum of essential vitamins, minerals and trace elements,  where the dosages are adapted to the needs of (young) children and teenagers, but where our unique ratio of micronutrients is maintained. 

In general, multivitamins for children consist largely of sugars or artificial sweeteners to improve the taste. MULTI4KIDS is sweetened mainly with steviol glycosides from the plant Stevia and Xylitol, a natural sweetener extracted from the birch bark. Xylitol is naturally low in calories and has the special property of being good for teeth. 

In short, the MULTI4KIDS has a delicious taste, is in many ways a progressive product and will score above average when compared to other multivitamins for children.

The MULTI4KIDS contains not only an ample and responsible amount of B vitamins but also nutrients that are specifically important for the growth of children and teenagers. We have taken a close look at the daily requirements of children and teenagers and what the average intake and processing is. 

MULTI4KIDS contains special ingredients for children's growth:

  • Plant-based vitamin D3 and calcium for the formation of strong bones

Supplemented with B vitamins in optimal form and dosage

In formulating MULTI4KIDS particular attention was paid to the extent to which the body is able to convert and process the various B vitamins into active compounds. MULTI4KIDS therefore contains many of the biologically active (co-enzymatic) forms. For example vitamin B2 (riboflavin-5'-phosphate), B6 (pyridoxal-5'-phosphate) and B12 (methylcobalamin). These are types of vitamins as they are ultimately used by the body, which is supported by research showing that these types have a higher bioavailability in the body than the non-biologically active forms.

The other vitamins and minerals are also involved in many processes, especially those related to the following scientifically proven health claims:

Multi-ingredients in the SPOTLIGHTS:

Vitamin D3 from a vegetable source (Vitashine®)

The Multivitamin MULTI4KIDS tablets contain ample amounts of vitamin D3 (2.1 mcg per tablet) to amply meet the needs of children and teenagers. Moreover, our MULTI4KIDS Multivitamin uses vegetable-based vitamin D3 (Vitashine®). This is because it is produced from lichen, and not from the animal wool fat (like the vast majority of vitamin D3 products). This makes all MULTI4KIDS tablets also suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Coral calcium spores

The coral calcium in the MULTI4KIDS Multivitamin provides an ideal, high-quality supplement of trace elements that we need in very small quantities for our health. After all, the high bioavailability of naturally occurring minerals and trace elements in coral is a perfect source to nourish our bodies. The nutrients in the coral calcium used in the MULTI4KIDS Multivitamin are very well assimilated by the gut and absorbed by the body.

Choline based on 100% natural tartaric acid (VitaCholine®)

Choline has been included in multivitamins as standard for a long time. However, more and more is now known about choline! In 2012, the European Commission approved three important health claims for choline. It has been proven that choline is important for normal lipid and homocysteine metabolism, but also important for normal liver function (detox). In 2016, EFSA also ruled that choline is an essential, indispensable nutrient. Reason enough to include an effective amount of choline in our daily Children's Multivitamin. In the Multivitamin MULTI4KIDS the best quality choline is processed, from the brand VitaCholine®,  A form of choline based on 100% natural tartaric acid. This brand stands for superior quality and a great deal of research has gone into it.

Vitamin B6 as pyridoxal-5′-phosphate

For the Multivitamin MULTI4KIDS we specifically chose pyridoxal-5'-phosphate (P-5'-P), the biologically active form of vitamin B6, and not, for example, the frequently used pyridoxine-HCL, a form of B6 that still has to be converted in the body. Vitamin B6 in the biologically active form of pyridoxal-5'-phosphate is involved as a co-factor in more than 140 enzyme reactions in the body and therefore has a broad spectrum of physiological effects. Multivitamin MULTI4KIDS therefore contains pyridoxal-5'-phosphate in an ample quantity as the pure and easily absorbable active form.

Vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin

The absorption of vitamin B12 from food and diet is a complex and sensitive process. Because of the safety of vitamin B12 supplementation and the often difficult absorption of B12 from food and supplements, the Multivitamin MULTI4KIDS contains no less than 2.1 mcg vitamin B12 (83% RDA) per tablet in the biologically active form methylcobalamin. Many B12 products and multivitamins contain the cheaper, synthetic form of vitamin B12, cyanocobalamin. This form does not occur as such in nature and must first be converted by the body to the active forms. The cyanide part is separated from the cobalamin by enzymes and then eliminated by the body. Studies show that vitamin B12 in the form of active methylcobalamin has a higher bioavailability than cyanocobalamin, for example.

Vitamin B2 as riboflavin 5′-phosphate

MULTI4KIDS Multivitamin contains vitamin B2 in the biologically active form into which standard riboflavin is converted in the body, namely riboflavin-5'-phosphate. In this endogenous form it plays a role as a coenzyme in many metabolic processes. Riboflavin-5'-phosphate belongs to a group of natural pigments (flavins). When excreted, riboflavin gives urine its characteristic bright yellow colour. To support good health, MULTI4KIDS Multivitamin contains a generous dose of vitamin B2 in pure, biologically active form.

Inositol

Inositol is a vitamin-like compound found in the tissues of our body and in certain food sources. Although it is sometimes called a B vitamin, it is not technically one, especially since our cells are capable of producing it. However, inositol works closely with several essential B vitamins (pyridoxine - B6, folic acid - B9) and pantothenic acid - B5). Because Inositol performs important functions in the human body that are important for the cooperation with B vitamins, we have added a balanced dose of Inositol to the Multivitamin MULTI4KIDS.

PABA

PABA, which is short for Para-Amino-Benzoic Acid, is also not a formal B vitamin, but is also closely related to the B vitamin complex. PABA is water-soluble and is considered unique in its kind because it is 'a vitamin within a vitamin', commonly found in combination with folic acid. PABA is naturally present in cereal and wheat products, bran, brown rice, brewer's yeast and molasses, but can also be partially synthesised by the body. Because PABA fulfils several functions in the human body and is especially important for the cooperation between folate and other nutrients, we have added a balanced dose of PABA to the Multivitamin MULTI4KIDS.
