B vitamins in optimal form and dosage

 

Multivitamin COMPLEET contains an ample and responsible amount of B vitamins. We have taken a close look at the daily requirements of the general population and what the average intake and processing is. Particular consideration was given to the extent to which the body is able to convert and process the various B vitamins into active compounds. Multivitamin COMPLEET therefore also contains many of the biologically active (co-enzymatic) forms. For example, vitamin B2 (riboflavin-5'-phosphate), B6 (pyridoxal-5'-phosphate) and B12 (methylcobalamin). These are the vitamin forms as they are ultimately used by the body, which is supported by research showing that these forms have a higher bioavailability in the body than the non-bioactive forms.

But, the other vitamins and minerals are also involved in many processes, especially those related to the following scientifically proven health claims:

Vitamin B6 as pyridoxal-5′-phosphate

For Multivitamin COMPLEET, pyridoxal-5'-phosphate (P-5'-P), the biologically active form of vitamin B6, was specifically chosen instead of, for example, the frequently used pyridoxine-HCL, a form of B6 that still has to be converted in the body. Vitamin B6 in the biologically active form of pyridoxal-5'-phosphate is involved as a co-factor in more than 140 enzyme reactions in the body and therefore has a broad spectrum of physiological effects. Multivitamin COMPLEET contains pyridoxal-5'-phosphate in ample quantities as the pure and easily absorbed active form.

Vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin

The absorption of vitamin B12 from food and diet is a complex and sensitive process. Because of the safety of vitamin B12 supplementation and the often difficult absorption of B12 from food and supplements, Multivitamin COMPLEET contains no less than 25 mcg vitamin B12 (1001% RDA) per tablet in the biologically active form methylcobalamin. Many B12 products and multivitamins contain the cheaper, synthetic form of vitamin B12, cyanocobalamin. This form does not occur as such in nature and must first be converted by the body to the active forms. The cyanide part is separated from the cobalamin by enzymes and then eliminated by the body. Studies show that vitamin B12 in the form of the active methylcobalamin has a higher bioavailability than, for example, cyanocobalamin.

Vitamin D3 from a vegetable source (Vitashine®)

International authorities have recently determined that the intake of vitamin D from food should be higher (15 mcg) and that the maximum permitted dosage should be increased (100 mcg). The importance of higher doses has long been known to us and in the professional world. Our vitamin D experts recommend that the vitamin D level in adults should be at least 75 nmol/l. To obtain this level of vitamin D, it is necessary to take a number of doses. To maintain such a vitamin D level, an oral dose of vitamin D3 of around 25-75 mcg per day is needed.  Multivitamin COMPLEET contains ample amounts of vitamin D3 (9.4 mcg per tablet) to meet this requirement. Moreover, our COMPLEET Multivitamin uses vegetable-based vitamin D3 (Vitashine®). This is because it is produced from lichen, and not from animal sheep's wool fat (like the vast majority of vitamin D3 products). This makes all Multivitamin COMPLEET also suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Vitamin B2 as riboflavin 5′-phosphate

Multivitamin COMPLEET contains vitamin B2 in the biologically active form into which standard riboflavin is converted in the body, namely riboflavin-5'-phosphate. In this native form, it plays a role as a coenzyme in many metabolic processes. Riboflavin-5'-phosphate belongs to a group of natural pigments (flavins). PABA

PABA, which is short for Para-Amino-Benzoic Acid, is also not a formal B vitamin, but is also closely related to the B vitamin complex. PABA is water-soluble and is considered unique in its kind because it is 'a vitamin within a vitamin', commonly found in combination with folic acid. PABA is naturally present in cereal and wheat products, bran, brown rice, brewer's yeast and molasses, but can also be partially synthesised by the body. Because PABA fulfils several functions in the human body and is especially important for the cooperation between folate and other nutrients, we have added a balanced dose of PABA to Multivitamin COMPLEET.

Choline based on 100% natural tartaric acid (VitaCholine®)

Choline has been included in multivitamins as standard for a long time. However, more and more is now known about choline! In 2012, the European Commission approved three important health claims for choline. It has been proven that choline is important for normal lipid and homocysteine metabolism, but also important for normal liver function (detox).
